At Foxglove Spires we have been enjoying the beautiful Spring Flowers blooming and to celebrate we decided to make a Flower Crown from Tissue paper.
If you are heading into Autumn you could use Autumn colours instead.
We measure the top of a little princesses head and cut a strip of cardboard an extra 2cm longer and 4cm wide, then we stapled the ends together.
We laid 4 sheets of purple tissue paper on top of each other and drew around the rim of a saucer 10 times. Then we cut the circles out.
Then we laid two sheets of pink paper on top of each other and drew around the rim of a smaller saucer 10 times. Then we cut these circles out.
For each flower we placed 4 circles of purple tissue paper and two circles of pink on top of each other. Folded in half and folded twice more.
Carefully we made 4 cuts from the edge of the paper towards the centre, then sniped the edges.
Gently we unfolded the circles, separated them and then put a dab of glue between each layer.
Finally we pinched the bottom part of each flower and glued it onto the headband.
A beautiful crown of flowers to wear frolicking in the garden.
Suddenly there is a movement between the flowers;
Did I see a fairy?
Yes, come with me... look there..... do you see it?
A tiny flower fairy!!!!!
Isn't she just beautiful.....
Maybe she thinks I am a fairy because of my beautiful flower crown.
Have a delightful weekend.
